What May Come

WHAT MAY COME – Choreography by Darren McIntyre

Darren McIntyre choreographed and premiered his own original ballet, “What May Come”, at The Australian Ballet Centre, and in collaboration with The Anti-Cancer Council of Australia raised valuable funds towards cancer research and awareness. He was the recipient of The Dame Peggy van Praagh Award for Choreography (1999).

Unfortunately, we never got to perform it in a theatre, as the costs were too high at the time and I wanted all the money to go to Cancer research. I didn’t realize the impact this project had on so many people. It is nice to know the piece is still in many people’s memory. For that I am very grateful!

Performed by Students of The Australian Ballet School, 1999.

This piece is a tribute to Elisabeth Heidimanns (Darren’s Oma) and Marianne McIntyre (Darren’s Mum). It was created as a testament to the incredible strength and courage they endured and showed as they went through their battles, fighting cancer. Thank you for all you instilled in me as a human and the inspiration you gave me always as an artist. VALE to you both…
